Terms of Use
Effective 29 September 2026
These terms are between you and 20 Miles Ltd, trading as Lineup (“we”, “us”), company number 15758027, of 34 Tern Avenue, Horsham, West Sussex, RH12 5AT, United Kingdom. They cover the Lineup app, the web dashboard at lineupapp.net and the public team websites Lineup hosts (together, “Lineup”). By creating an account or using Lineup you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and is part of these terms.
1. Who can use Lineup
- You must be 13 or over to hold an account. We ask your age when you sign up.
- Children under 13 use Lineup only as player records added by a parent, guardian or club official. They do not hold accounts.
- If you are 13 to 17, a parent or guardian can see the team chats you are in. That is a condition of your account.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure and for what is done with your account.
2. Teams and the people in them
A team is created by a coach, team manager or club official (the “team owner”). The team owner and the admins they appoint add players, fixtures, results and other records about the team’s members, many of whom are children. When you add a player under 18 you confirm that you are their parent or guardian, or a club official with the club’s permission to add them, and that you have told their parent or guardian what Lineup is. When you claim a child’s player record as their parent, you confirm that you are that child’s parent or guardian.
Clubs and teams are responsible for having a proper basis for the player records they keep in Lineup, as they would be for a paper register. Lineup provides the platform, keeps it secure and acts on the team owner’s instructions for the team’s data. If a team publishes a public team website, the team owner is responsible for what appears on it.
The team owner can delete the team, which deletes its records. If a team owner deletes their own account, the team passes to another admin where one exists; otherwise the team and its records are deleted.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you add to Lineup: names, photos, videos, messages, fixtures and the rest (“your content”). You give us a licence to host, store, display and transmit your content to the people it is shared with, to the public team site where the team owner has enabled one, and to produce the graphics and exports Lineup offers, for as long as the content is in Lineup. The licence ends when you or the team delete the content or the account, except for copies in backups for up to 30 days. We do not sell your content, use it to train AI models, or license it to anyone else.
You must have the right to add what you add. In particular, you must have the permission of a child’s parent or guardian before uploading photos or videos of them, and you must not share content from a team chat or gallery outside the team without the permission of the people in it.
4. Conduct in chat and media
Lineup’s chat and galleries are for running a team. You must not use them to:
- bully, harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or post anything indecent or discriminatory;
- contact a child outside the team’s own conversations, or ask a child for personal information or images;
- post anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights;
- send unsolicited commercial messages.
Any member can report a message or a person from within the app, and block or mute other members. Reports go to the team’s admins and to us. We may remove content, restrict or close accounts, and pass reports to the club, the county FA or the police where we believe someone is at risk. Chat is not end-to-end encrypted, deliberately, so that reports can be acted on.
5. Lineup Pro and subscriptions
- Lineup is free to use with the limits shown in the app. Lineup Pro is a subscription that removes those limits and unlocks premium features, bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Prices are shown in the store before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, in the store’s subscription settings. Any unused part of a free trial is lost when you buy.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules. If you are a consumer in the UK you have a 14-day right to cancel a digital service, which the stores honour; because Lineup Pro starts immediately you may be charged for the days you used.
- When a subscription ends, the team keeps its data. Free-tier limits apply again and premium features lock until it is renewed.
6. Team payments
When Lineup offers payments between parents and clubs, they are processed by Stripe. The club is the merchant: the payment is to the club, the club’s own Stripe account receives it, and refunds are between the parent and the club. Lineup’s fee, if any, is shown before the club switches payments on. Stripe’s terms apply to the payment itself.
6a. Learning
Learning is a football quiz for a team’s players, included with Lineup Pro. A coach turns it on and shares one link with the team. If you are a coach, you agree to share that link only with the squad’s players and their families, and to make a new link in the app if it is shared more widely than that; the old link then stops working. Each player protects their progress with a 4-digit code; a coach can reset a code that has been forgotten or shared.
Players must answer only as themselves, and must not open or change another player’s progress. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a child’s use of Learning as they would any other website. The quiz questions, answers, explanations and diagrams are ours: you may use them within your team, but not copy, republish or sell them. They are coaching guidance for grassroots football, provided to help players learn, and not a substitute for a qualified coach’s judgement.
7. AI features
Some features use an AI model to turn text you paste into structured data, such as fixtures. The results are suggestions: always check them before saving. We are not responsible for a fixture entered on the wrong day because a suggestion was accepted unchecked.
8. Acceptable use
You must not interfere with Lineup, try to access accounts or data that are not yours, scrape or harvest data from it, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
9. Availability and liability
We work hard to keep Lineup running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults, and we may change or withdraw features. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, business or goodwill, for indirect loss, or for anything outside our reasonable control, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, or £50 if you paid nothing.
10. Ending things
You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Account. We may close accounts that break these terms or that show no activity for 24 months, after warning you by email. Sections 3, 9 and 12 continue after an account ends.
11. Changes
We may change these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Lineup after that means you accept the change.
12. Law and contact
These terms are governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales, without affecting your rights as a consumer in the country you live in. Questions: support@lineupapp.net. Copyright and trademark complaints: the same address, with enough detail for us to find the content.
